Defective Construction Equipment

When the public thinks of safety recalls and the lawsuits that result, most people typically think of vehicles, prescription drugs, and children’s toys. One thing that many do not think of is construction equipment. However, as anybody in the construction industry can tell you, there are plenty of safety recalls in this trade, too.

Tools are probably the most commonly recalled objects in the construction industry, but a variety of other products have been recalled, as well. Construction adhesives may contain toxic substances, or may prove to be unfit in certain climates or types of weather. Different types of insulation may be recalled, as well as screws, nails, nuts, and bolts.

As expected, there have been many lawsuits from personal injury resulting from defective construction equipment. Some construction workers have been diagnosed with Mesothelioma or exposed to asbestos while working. These horrible situations make for excellent lawsuit opportunities. Because medical expenses can be so high when treating these types of illnesses, the people and companies who use these dangerous materials should always be held responsible for paying hospital and medical bills.
